Living Your Dream!
Living your Dream
I grew up as what most would consider a poor life in the small town of Wilder, Idaho. My dad was a local mechanic and my mother worked odd jobs to make ends meet. I also remember my 3 brothers and sister having to work in the fields as migrant workers to help my family bring in more cash. We where a family of 7 living in a one bed room house. Being the youngest I shared a mattress in the living room up until I probably 15. Which I guess could have been worse. At the age of eight, I remember asking my mom if we were poor. I recall her smiling and saying to me “hijo”(son in Spanish), we are blessed with abundance. We have a beautiful home. We have plenty of food on the table each night for supper. We love and have each other, have our health, happiness, and our whole lives ahead of us. I wouldn’t call that poor, would you?
Growing up without much I knew that I wanted to provide more to my children and I knew just having a job wouldn’t be enough to provide the kind of lifestyle that I was aiming for, but I didn’t know how to make that change. One of the first books that discovered me was Rich Dad Poor Dad, by Robert Kiyosaki, after reading that book I took on the task of reinventing myself to be the person I declared that I would be from that moment forward. I agreed to put aside all the disempowering evidence I had gathered that proved I was a hopeless case.
When I finally told myself that I was worthy of wealth and success, the universe opened up to me. I have come to discover that if a person truly believes that they cannot accomplish something, then there is nothing or no one else that can make that person believe. I have also discovered that when a person wants to make a change in there life, there is nothing that can stop that person but themselves. Where you started or where you are at, makes no difference in the end. So now you know, if you are not achieving your goals there is only one person to blame and that person is YOU.
