Is a Ground Floor Opportunity really the Best time to join?
GROUND FLOOR OPPORTUNITY!!!!! JOIN TODAY BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE!
How many times have we seen an ad like that on the web! Stating some new exciting product that is going to change the Network Marketing World or a friend calls you excited because he has just found a company in pre launch and is hounding you about how you will never get another chance to join on the ground floor. While I agree that timing is everything in Network Marketing, it is not the only thing that will lead to success.
Does it really matter when you Join?
It is amazing how many people join a ground floor opportunity with the wrong expectations. Most people who join a company within its first year believe that they have just stumbled onto their lottery ticket. Only to quit months later because their lottery ticket required a little something called “work.” It does not matter what year your company is in, because you still have to put in the time, energy, and money to build your business.
What does a new company really represent?
In my opinion all a new company represents is an opportunity to be a part of a community that will grow around you. When I started my Network Marketing adventure I join a new company called Jus International and they where just celebrating their one year anniversary. At the time the significant of joining such a young company meant nothing to me, all I knew was I like the product and I was in the process of looking for something different in my life. I will admit the one thing I love about being involved in a young company is everyone really cares about your business success. I love the fact that in my company when we sometimes have an opportunity meeting, our Chairman or someone else from the corporate team is involved. I remember once being invited to another companies opportunity meeting and they where excited because their highest earner was in the city, was going to be there. I had to laugh to myself because we had our Chairman at ours.
It’s like any other business you start! You need to work it
If you decide to join a company that is in pre-launch or in its first few year, you need to look at a few things like:
How stable is the company?
Does it have the right management team in place?
How does the product or service stack compared to the competition?
Do you really want to be part of this culture?
You need to ask yourself can I represent this product wholeheartedly?
If every one of your answers comes back good and you still want to proceed then all I have to say is now its time to work. It is amazing how many people join a Network Marketing company with the intent to “try” it out. One of the most memorial things my mentor told me was “Network Marketing works, so there no need to “try” just “work your business”.
Final Thoughts
Honestly it does not matter when you start, the only thing that matters is you make the most of the opportunity you go after. It is a shame to waste opportunities, but for every opportunity you miss, another will eventually come along, as long as you continue to keep your eyes open to them.
People Invest In YOU, Not Your Product!
You can preach a better sermon with your life than with your lips.
Oliver Goldsmith
Who you are as a person is what people take their risk or chance with in your business.
Everyday you are making first impressions and those first impressions can be the reason you are not succeeding in your Network Marketing Business. So when we approach people we need to watch how we come across, because usually within the first 30 seconds of meeting you a potential prospect decides whether or not to listen to what you have to say. It does not matter if you have the cure for cancer, unless the person can see themselves working with you, they will not hear your message.
So how can we become someone people want to follow? Here are nine ways to change peoples perception of you!
- Speak with authority
People follow leaders. It does not matter if you have a team of 1000 or 1 person, became a leader. Remember your time is very valuable, treat it that way. If you treat your time like its valuable, everyone else will to. - God gave you 2 ears and 1 mouth for a reason
Your opinion is irrelevant. The other person is trying to convey a message to you. Stop waiting for a pause in the conversation to inject your personal opinion. Listen to understand, not to respond. It’s ok to check in or repeat a thought back. It demonstrates that you are paying attention. Sit attentively and the other person will eventually get his/her thoughts across to you. - Laugh: Careful. It’s contagious. When you yawn. Guess what? Don’t you notice that the person next to you or talking to you lets out a yawn, too? It’s an unexplainable fact. The same goes for laughing. If you are in a room full of people, or just a few, smile at first, snicker, laugh under your breath, then just let one fly! You will be surprised at the reaction. There will be at least one other person that will laugh with you, if not the whole room. If they laugh at you, that’s ok, too. At least you got them to laugh.
- Smile: A smile is a powerful weapon; you can even break ice with it. Anonymous
- Never Complain: You should always been seen as someone who is positive. My mentor told me that negative should go up, meaning that its OK if you down line complains to you, but you should never relay the same message down.
- Belief creates the actual fact. As you work on creating this character you have written for yourself earlier, you must believe that you are already there. The actions you commit to get yourself into this character will follow. Belief develops confidence. Leaders believe they can achieve the impossible. Leaders allow others to be who they are, yet inspire change, through example. Leaders believe that by changing their own behavior and demonstrating success at it, they can positively change the behaviors of others. Open the book
- Allow people to come in and enjoy what you have to offer. Create positive relationships with other like-minded people. Be open to create authentic relationships. Kill your ego and open your heart. You will be surprised at the number of connections you make, multiplying your network.
- Stand with your head held high, young man…Slouching with your head hung over makes people believe there is something wrong with you. Walk straight and hold your head up. Look people in the eye when you speak to them. This commands authority. It will also increase your sales.
Learn how to be who you are. Speak with authority. Mute your speaker and listen more. Laugh and smile more. Believe in yourself. Open the door to your life. Walk in the knowing that you are great. These are gifts you can’t buy in any department store or dealership. Give these gifts to someone you know, today.
